Do you mean Portsmouth and Southsea? But won't that take you via the A3 and the start of the M275? I'd go with StuAff's route.Portsmouth City station is nearer, outside of the station turn left into Stanhope road at the next roundabout the ferry port is signed posted
Yes, but...Portsmouth City station is nearer, outside of the station turn left into Stanhope road at the next roundabout the ferry port is signed posted
I think he did, and yes it does. Rather him than me.Do you mean Portsmouth and Southsea? But won't that take you via the A3 and the start of the M275? I'd go with StuAff's route.
Either could work.....
As could Portsmouth Harbour really. As long as you're aware it's 'the Harbour' does not = the Ferry Port. It's not quite the closest, but it some way makes the navigation easier as you just keep the sea to your left. From memory the route is sign posted once you're heading the general direction. 15mins sounds a bit close tho...
15minutes from Portsmouth and Southsea is pushing it - tried for the 2030 boat for St Malo three times over the years with a slightly better window 30-40mins - but the train from London always conspired to give me around 15mins - boat to Caen at 2130. Solved it eventually by leaving work at lunchtime
Southern don't do bike reservations, but a MkI Winning Smile and a touch of being sensible should see you OK. It's officially two bikes per set of four carriages, but I've seen half a dozen. The bike space is by theBrittany ferries recommend 45 minutes. I agree that it's better to go before the Southern Trains curfew on bikes on trains out of London. Especially as the number of spaces for bikes is pretty limited (IIRC three) and I don't think you can reserve a place - but I could be wrong on that.
