Having had a few punctures in last couple of days, my Vittorio rubinos have had it. So many gashes and embedded bits of glass, I need to change them. My fingers have been excruciatingly painful doing the repairs in the cold (Raynaud's Syndrome), I just want some recommendations for good puncture resistant tyres. The extra weight of the tyres is not even a consideration for me, I couldn't care less about that.
Thanks in advance.

Schwalbe Marathon Plus always seem to get mentioned when this subject comes up. For puncture resistance, they are hard to beat. I have them on a couple of bikes and don't recall having a puncture with them.

As others have said, Marathon plus is probably the most puncture resistant tyre you can get. It's not 100% proof: my last puncture was down to a wood screw that had embedded itself in the M+ tyre - I had to use a screwdriver to remove it. But no tyre's going resist that sort of thing - in fact most would have been destroyed. All I had to do was swap in a new inner tube. And that was over 6 years ago...

I've also had many thousands of trouble free miles with Durano plusses too. Both are good choices.
and much much less wooden-feeling!
Yes, the M+ is a very stiff tyre. But it's not necessary to run it at a very high pressure: reducing it by 10-20 psi improves feel immensely (and probably grip too, though I try not to push things to the limit, especially not now in winter when the roads tend to be more slippery).

Schwalbe Marathons on the Hybrid, Schwalbe Big Bens on the fat-tyred 'beater'. MTB has some Pirelli Scorpions.

After suffering a spate of punctures on the daily; i soon leant skimping here (Tyres and / or Tubes) soon leads to frustration and raised Blood pressure. **I do now also have Schwalbe tubes in every bike in the fleet.

Touch wood its been a completely puncture-free Season since. There; i've talked that up now haven't i....................

The Rubino has always been pretty good with puncture resistance in my experience, that being said if you want something reasonably priced with better protection, the Vittoria Zaffiro Pro hits the mark - the tread is a little thicker and so is the protection belt, generally pitched as a "training tire" but I found it to be excellent as a commuter, pretty good durability and doesn't puncture often - I've run quite a few down to the casing commuting in winter when I wasn't paying attention to the tyres.

I keep changing around looking at other tyres, but I often keep coming back to them - just get the pro version with the folding bead rather than the cheaper wired version.

Get M+ then if you don't care about extra rolling resistance.
With any tyre though, a regular inspection and removal of embedded glass and flint helps prevent punctures. Sounds like from your OP you maybe hadn't done this.

Marathon.
They are heavier and slower but the most resistant I've ever used - metal shards get through but little else. I get 3-5 years before they start wearing out.

Marathon Plus are pretty much fit and forget. But as people say, a pain to get on and off the rims.
I've used Durano Plus for many years.
For marathon plus, something like a koolstop bead jack is very very helpful, especially in narrower widths. It also makes fitting any other narrow tyre easier.

Bontrager red levers are probably the easiest I found to get them off the rim again, but Schwalbe blues and Pedros also usually work.
