The best "real" Police cars I ever drove were the mk 2 Cavaliers. Quite nippy, reliable, and practical for getting non-compliant people into the back seats! (Unlike the waste of public money that was the Austin Metro ).

Vauxhall Astra MKIV's. We just could not kill them, short of actually crashing them. In addition, a quick twizzle with a 10mm spanner upped the turbo's boost and they went like the clappers.

I could never understand why community officers got given Corsas or Festers. it's not that the officers were any smaller or their prisoners more compact, so why is a small car suddenly suitable?
