Hello just wondering if anybody here bets I have just set up an account with the intent to spend £10 a week on football betting just to see if I can get lucky as I could do with some more money

I once went to haydock races for the day and didn't win anything so luck may not be on my side

I'll do you a deal; give me the £10.00 a week, and I promise in a year to give you a £500.00 lump sum guaranteed.

In fact, I'll open that offer to all CC'ers

Oh, and I promise, no fishy business

I'm a regular gambler, nothing too major, maybe £20 a week max.
It's certainly not a way to get rich (in my experience) but fine for a little fun if you don't get too carried away with it

Same goes for you, give me the £20.00 a week and you'll get ........[looks for calculator]............£1,020.00

I do silly £2 bets on sporting events, not to make money from just to give me a little more interest in whatever im watching. I tend to make a slight profit betting on F1, by betting on odds i think are much better than they should be rather than just outcomes I think will happen. Then I lose what little I make betting on football because I haven't got a clue about it

If you only bet what you can afford to lose, you'll be fine, and a 50p E/W RR can build up to a surprising sum if all goes well.

The problem comes when you're betting the mortgage payment in the hopes of winning enough to pay the arrears.

Anyway, you think you had problems with horse racing? I once backed a horse at Newton Abbot that then went and walked into the rail in the parade ring  (needless to say, it didn't win)

Exactly. Betting is when you lay out money you can write off, gambling is when you'll be in trouble if you lose.

My only bet so far this year was a 50p Yankee on New Years Day, £5.50 outlay and a return of £161 from three winners. It's a cheap afternoon's entertainment in front of the telly and the possibility of a bonus if you're lucky.

A lottery ticket once a week is about it for me.

I couldn't even win a church raffle

Any spare money I get (mostly change) goes in a jar and then gets used to buy something shiny for one of the bikes ^_^
