Sadly Nellies has gone down hill a bit, but there again its a Sams Smiths policy, no music, no singing, no games etc, no doing anything but just quiet drinking, its cheap enough but the beers a bit rough on the tastebuds especcialy if you've had a drink elsewhere before. Last year we had been to a funeral and having a drink afterwards, most of the relatives were Welsh and broke out into a quite song in one of the back rooms, the landlady went scatty over it, shouting and bawling at them to stop singing, so we left. And beside's they shut at 2300, under new management now so it might have changed, which to me is a few miles short of a bike ride, give me 0200 in the morning or later. If I'm out I'm in the Rose and Crown or The Standard.
If I did not have commitments for other rides out over the weekend I would have joined you for a ride out on the wolds or even Soltydog for a run out to York on Sunday, but I never know where I'm going half the time with the lads on a Saturday or Sunday morning or even if they are going to turn up, its more a case of follow the leader, put the hammer down and go, try not to fall behind or you get dropped not knowing where to go, as I think the routes made up as you go.
