Beware Amazon Prime ?

I think I did spot the £49 charge when I looked at Prime. But then I am a little suspicious of their offers. They had a very attractive looking credit card offer, which would save you £15 on your first purchase or something like that. When it arrived, I realised it was with the same credit card company I had just had trouble getting shot of. They kept putting on insurance charges on my bills every month. Every time I tried to pay off my credit card, I found I still had something left to pay the next month. Definitite scam to get you into the habit of not paying off your credit card in full each month, imo.

There's another thread about this somewhere. I made the same mistake a while ago and rang Amazon, they were happy to recognise " my" mistake and refunded the money straight away. Maybe their attitude has hardened up since then They even agreed that the process was "easily misunderstood"
