Our Labrador Jake, 11 years old, very much a house dog, we recently noticed a swelling on his cheek, below the eye. Hmmm.
Vets yesterday, he has an abcess on his tooth, tooth may well be broken...and the vet thought the knuckle type bone hes had recently may be the cause. Old dog, weaker teeth, hard bone equals a recipe for problems.
So it's an abcess drain on Tuesday and removal of the offending tooth.
Another factoid. He said most insurances don't cover dental work unless its specified or requested.
If he can get it covered by the insurance, it'll cost us circa £150. If not, £450 to £500.

Last bone he is having bless him
