BHC Airlite hubs - how tight are your flanges?

Oo-er missus. Mine can be pulled off easily by hand although they press into place without play. In a built wheel I assume there is a colossal amount of force holding them in place (and keeping the holes in phase relative to the rim), especially in a front wheel where the flanges are further apart.

Are anyone's so tight that they need tools to fit or remove them?

Loch side.
A hub's flange is the part that has holes in to anchor the spokes. If you pull them off by hand I'll call you Mr Hulk...Sir.

I don't think you've seen an Airlite hub. They are 3-piece, with a steel barrel and detachable alloy flanges. I'm not saying I can pull the flanges off the hub in a built-up wheel!
