Bibs, shorts and Jerseys

Hi

With regards to the skinsuit post I was wondering why people wear bibs and jersey instead of just cycling shorts and jersey? Please inform me.

When I'm cycling I wear cycling shorts with leggings over the top, t-shirt and hi vis jacket. I'm too scared to cycle only in shorts in case I crash.

Bib shorts don't gap at the back. If you want a fully covered back or are worried about builders bum they are the solution.

They also don't bunch up around your waist, fall down or need repeated adjustment to get comfortable.
Bibs are much more comfortable on longer rides for this reason (although they can be inconvenient if you need to go......).

Depends on your shape. I like bibs, but I prefer cycling shorts and separate jersey as bibs can become loose around abdomen. Ok if you have a big belly I suppose.
