It’s a courier auction site - tell them you’ve got a bike to transport from dublin to manchester, and that you’re flexible on timescales. You might get lucky and find someone who’s already got a pickup in that area, or a removal company that’s coming home with an empty van.

Best suggestion so far. Loads of courier and trucking companies will be happy to sell a bit of space in a regular truck. Try Paisley Freight.

I am about a 4 hour drive away from Dublin. I don't think I'd be able to help with this one as it would take too much time.

Thanks for all the help/ suggestions, my bike is now safely home. I used a website called Clicktrans where you post the ‘job’ and receive quotes from interested parties. Quotes varied from 99 to 130 Euros, the procedure was very straightforward and payment was made on delivery of the bike.
