My other bike is a Pinarello
I always go to the left , but I have discovered that there are cyclists that are not aware of keep left whilst passing , I have as recently as Tuesday had run in's with some of them

It may make me look like a bit of a dork (signalling) but I find that the usefulness is precisely because the person (another cyclist or pedestrian) could be 20-30 feet away when I do this and it makes clear what my intentions are. Often in the past I have been in situations where I did not do this and both cyclists kind of swerve from side to side and sometimes end up stopped. Obviously it does not work for pedestrians travelling in the same direction.

I do my own stunts
Around here if there are multiple peds it is obligatory to walk spread out across the cycle path, so if there is more than one aim for straight down the middle, that way they will jump either way in surprise.

If there's only one just squeeze through wherever you want.

In general round here everyone goes to their left.
Pedestrians get a cheerful hello and I leave them to sort out which way to go.
If I say I'm coming by on the left they go left and right. And if they have a labrador it invariably turns towards me as I pass.

So you signal left which means you are going to the left. Although maybe they think you are telling them to go left. Best thing is to slow down enough so that it isn't really an issue.

Or stop and get off and wait until they have passed and are out of view.

I find that beeping my horn and flashing my lights on my scooter/ scrambler seem to do the trick.

I did try shouting but no one understood what I was saying because the full face helmet muffled the sound.

Maybe I should get an open face helmet?

Posted this before, but it is "Shoulder Physics"

Magnets have poles that attract and repel. Shoulders and the edges of corridors, paths, pavements are the same

A single person's shoulders will repel from both sides of the path and force the person to walk in the centre

Two or more people and the shoulders repel from the sides and the adjacent shoulders causing an equidistant spreads across the path.
