Big off today

Took on a big descent today..... should have known better but you know what its like. Lot of ice and snow. Started going pear shaped after about 30 m hung on to it for about another 150m. then we parted company. Not hurt too bad, But thing is couldnt find the bike. Finally after about 10 mins realized it had gone down a deep ravine that borders the track. God knows how it cleared the brambles etc. Took me an hour to retreve it.

Glad you're Ok, sounds as if it could've ended a lot worse.

I always judge the severity of an "off" by how far away you land from the bike so I think you've raised the bar somwhat there by loosing it completely!!!

Broke away from the pedals, and the bike must of righted then launched itself off something. Didn t see as face was in the snow, But your right I ve never lost the bike before !

my worst off recently was toppling over into a bush of brambles. just lay there ofr a couple of mintues as it was painful putting hands on top of brambles in order to get out.

at least the snow gave some sort of cushion.

did you not try to use your brakes?

That's a very positive attitude - main thing is, the bike went into the ravine and not you!
