No biggie really, but I just bimbled through life, had average paid jobs albeit with a lot of responsibility, then redundancy at 44 offered me a chance of a career change, onto the tools in a packing factory.
Within two years, I'd jumped hugely iin wages, learned more than I could ever have thought, was intensely interested, and within 4 years was travelling to Cyprus, Uruguay, Egypt, Spain etc with my new found skills.
I still pinch myself sometimes and although my travelling days are over ( mind they brought their own problems so no mind)..I love what I do. No day is the same, you neverknow what the next breakdown is going to be.
I remember in my first month there...going home and saying to the wife 'I dont think I can do it...there's SO much to learn, its relentless'
12 years ago, I couldnt concieve I could ever have done that.
