The trouble with road cleats is they make it difficult to take your foot off the pedal and shove it onto the top of your back wheel while leaning into a downhill bend, which as everybody knows is the best way to do a skid and the coolest way to get round a corner.
When I was ten years old I tried to do an awesome skid turn at the bottom of the hill near my house. The skid was indeed awesome, but the turn was not - I carried on in a straight line only with the bike turned sideways and on the floor :S Still my biggest skid!
Probably on my mums old raliegh 20 when I was about 11 , back tyre down to inner tube in one go , flying down the back road in urswick near barrow , no pocket money that week as I had to replace the tyre
My biggest skid was aged around 14 on my "racer".
Went flying round a corner too fast and carried on for around 15 feet, on the deck, still "sitting" on the bike with the wheels turning.
Most recent, impressive skid was on a golf buggy at Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus.
Not forgetting Mr M's pants that I found on the floor this morning.
