Hi,

I have £399.99 in vouchers to spend on a new bike with Evans thanks to an insurance payout. Unfortuantly my first choice bike - the Specialized Globe Vienna 3 (2010) - has a three month waiting list. I want (need) to be back in the saddle within the next fortnight.

I've got the list down to these bikes...

Felt QX75 (2009)
Specialised Globe Vienna 2 (2010)
Trek 7.2 FX (2010)
Scott Sub 30 (2009)
Scott Sportster P4 (2009)
Specialised Globe Vienna 1 (2010)

I'm looking for the best bike for long distance cycling. I'm hoping to do a JOGLE next August. If I'm successful then I want to do similar cycle tours/camping holidays every year. I also want to do the odd 50-100 mile ride on a weekend.

Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

Thank you.

Lately it seems the '09 models have the better components on so I would sway towards that side of the offerings you have shortlisted.

Mmm, If they can still get hold of the 55cm Felt then I'm thinking that looks the best choice. Problem is, I've never heard of them! Does anyone here have experience with Felt or this bike?

It's a shame, the Vienna 3 seemed nigh on perfect

I decided to go with the Felt QX75. Seems to be the best spec'd of the bunch and not a bad price - £379. Apparantly last one in th company. Deposite paid, just waiting on the insurance vouchers now
