Bike box for air travel

I have just reassembled my bike out of the bike box I use for flying and thought I'd see if there are any useful alternatives to the box, so, does anyone have experience with this:

My bike - the carbon one I take on trips, weighs 15.1 lbs, so a shoulder bag would be okay.

With some of the baggage handling I've seen I don't think I'd trust a bag myself.

I think I'll end up using the cardboard box I already have - I also have a Bike Pro box which is much too heavy to be hauling around. I should find someone to give it to who might make use of it.
