My cycle computer got crushed yesterday,i was fiddling with it then it flew off its base onto the road. I stopped about ten yards down the road, dropped my bike on the grass verge ran and tried to retrieve it before the oncoming car arrived. Too late,i heard the crunch just as i was about to swoop, leaving me to pick up the thing. It was only a seven quid supermarket one but it told me all i wanted to know including my overall miles on the latest bike, which have now disappeared as i didn't write them down in case of such mishaps!

I've been working out how many items have fallen from me while on the bike or the bike itself that have ended up being crushed before they could be rescued. So far i've thought of the aluminium drinks bottle that went with a bang, the front light, the lunch box from my rucksack, and sunglasses that have slipped off due to sweating.
Anyone else feel that once it's dropped off you've lost it,and what have you lost?
