Mags....enjoy. The pace is pretty slow in the morning so you should get a chance to get the gears and brakes running perfectly. The afternoon is a bit quicker....the teacher shows you how to strip the headset and hubs so the trick is volunteering for him / her to do it on your bike. Once you've seen it in action ya'll be able to do it no probs when you get home. They give you a nice little booklet outlining all the maintenance steps too.

It does get pretty grubby but have plenty of hand cleaner that really works. Have invested in a tub and it's great.

All in all it's cash very well spent!

Thanks Dayvo, I'll have to get the diary out, it's good to know these courses are available in Wales at least.

It's the wrong end of the country, but it can't be too far, can it?

Well, it depends on your definition of far. When I lived in Swansea it took me approx 4 1/2 hrs to drive home to see the folks (a few miles away from the above link) - It's about 160ish miles.
However cheers for the link - that's me sorted!
