As I've just invested in a road bike, I'm getting hot flushes at the thought of my bike being nicked.

Is it worth/what is the best bike insurance?

Has anyone/is it worth signing up to bikeregister.com?

What is the best lock(s) to take around in a rucksack, that are secure but not too heavy?

Best insurance for an expensive bike is never to have to leave it 'unattended'.
Otherwise use a rat bike that you dont really care too much to be seen on one, if it gets nicked . no problem, yu know that it will be in a heap 1/4/ mile up the road 'cos you are the only person who knows how to control it with shot headrace bearings.
M&S home insurance has no quibble inclusion for bikes at home up to £4k.
Get BC membership for the more likely scenario that you might be involved in a road incident for 3rd party and personal cover.
