Bike insurance

I have just rang up about some bike insurance for my Madone 6.5 pro, before I had even asked what types they offer I was told that my premiums would start from £430 per yr( my car insurance is only £270 fully comp, no-claim protected ). Household insurance only covers for £500 so that's no good. So what do I need to be covered for, how much does it costs you people and who are you with. Any help appreciated.

Have you called your household insurer to add your bike? The standard policy might only be for £500 but mine only charged about £35 to add seven bikes totalling about £3k.

+1 in the end I done the same thing my premium only went up by about the same and im with Direct Line.

We have both our bikes listed on the household policy at no extra cost.
