Bike polo

Oh yeh, just been playing a good game of bike polo.
It was a good laugh. There were 3 adults, and 3 kids, and we split up into 2 teams of 3.
Hockey sticks and a ball, with some small cones.
Great fun
I was on my mess about fixed, one person on a full carbon Specilized. He crashed into me aswell
Oh, and people were clipped in. So that was a good laugh
It was part of a 'Go-Ride' session, so was aimed at getting bike control.
Before it the kids had to go around cones one handed. Some couldnt do it. At the end though, they were much much better

Oh, and the no contact rule didnt last long

Its amazing.
No contact really didnt stay in long
We are hoping to set something proper up, a little tournement thing with the older people in the club/some people in nottingham that ride fixed that are interested.
Its a good laugh, and a good way to get more bike control
I couldnt beleive someone was doing it on a full carbon Specilized though, and he crashed into me head on My handlebars just turned around slightly, and we were soon back to playing

It really isnt as easy as what you think. Lots of balencing, riding slow.
And, you have to have good brakes, nearly crashed into the fence a few times when sprinting.
You sprint to save a goal, look at the ball then look up and see the fence coming towards you fast

Did that at a party one when a bit pissed. With a croquet set. Bloody hurt a lot, and really tested spoke quality.

One of the head coaches of the go ride session went arse over tit when he swung for the ball, and the stick went in his spokes.
Much to the amusement of everyone that was down.
There was a discussion at the end to see if we could get anther night set up where we would have a tournement.
Nothing has come up about it yet though, but i think we are going to play it again in a go-ride session
The older club members dont seem to be too interested in it though
