Hi all,

I have been looking at these two bikes, the Coyote Everglades 2010 and this other Viking one:

I am on a fairly restricted budget (about £300-350) and am looking for a bike for a bit of touring and general commuting. Can any one tell me how light this bike is, how it rides and how does it compare to the like of the trek 7.3fx? Any advice much appreciated. Does anyone have first-hand experience? Thanks!

If you are going to do touring on a bike i would suggest you find out if the bike has points for mounting racks to as you will need them to carry your stuff, even if you are "credit card " touring you will still need to carry clothes and tools etc.

Imho unless i knew exactly what the bike was like i would not pay large sums of money before i had tried it in real life.

I would mail the seller asking for more details /pictures as it seems a bit sketchy, a genuine seller should not have a problem with this.

Personally i would go for a drop bar bike for longer distances as you have more hand positions, that said many have done round the world journeys on flat bar bikes!
