Oui, ces't vrai

et vous avez un tres grand tete. Si le casquette appropries...(or summink)

According to a French exercise book I happened to be looking at today, I think the phrase might be 'gross tete' instead - there was a cartoony character called Guillaume Grosstete, and it clearly implied something about his character.

I think with most of the York bike shops, there would be a problem with people taking bikes in, just because of lack of space. Yes, you can wheel one through to the workshop, but any bikes left in the shop would get in the way rather.

The two better ones (CycleHeaven and Cycleworks) have either racks, or a metal bar along the wall to lock to. Bob Trotter's doesn't, I think, and anyway is generally regarded as a bit crap. Someone said they went in for a brake cable and was told by staff that they'd be better off going to Halfords for it....

My local bike shop gives you free beer and cigarettes if you have to wait.

I'm moving

Theres a hire place in Bude who's track pump I've borrowed before. Also the bike shed in Exeter is full of great people, I buy everything I can in there and when I popped in to grab a part they just gave it to me

I'm guessing from your location that's the one in town on Cambridge street??

I ended up buying my BSO from Wilco's rather than the LBS as when I went in (on more than one occasions) to ask for advice for myself and ones for my lads they weren't very helpful and talked to me like I'm thick (ok I'm not the brightest spark in the box but I'm not stupid).

Maybe I ought to give them another go - it was a while ago since I was in there last.

I,d like to give "Hilderthorpe Cycles" in Bridlington a mention, a few weeks ago me and the mrs were doing her first 40 miler, from Hull to Brid, when I got a slow puncture 3 miles from Bridlington. For some reason my spare innertube had gone walkabout out of my bar-bag. I managed to limp into Brid after blowing the tyre up a few times. I popped into "Hilderthorpe Cycles" and enquired about purchasing a new tube and the cost for them to fit it for me in their workshop. The bloke in the shop informed me that unfortunatley the cycle tech was not available as it was his day off, but offered me the workshop to put the tube in myself, and the use of their track pump. 15 minutes later we were on our way to the chippie for well earn,t fish and chips on the sea front. So a big thumbs up to them

Here for rides.
Both my nearest LBS's well let's just call them cramped. Scarely room to stand in let alone bring a bike inside. One has council provided sheffield stands nearby which we lobbied for.
