Not surprised.... I was there on holiday in the late 90's and we had all our stuff nicked...... worst holiday I ever had... would never ever ever ever go back. Got my money back from the travel agent too. Though no apology.

Did you read his account of travels in Turkey? Apart from getting everything nicked which he regrets leaving his bike unattended he seems to have experienced nothing but kindness from the Turkish people. Numerous times he has been fed and watered free of charge by people who have very little. Can't imagine this happening in the UK. Also if you were to turn your back one your bike for one second in parts of the UK it would be gone as happened to the German tourist who arrived in Portsmouth having toured the world.
