Hi all
I'm loving the new bike ,only one problem I'm scared to leave it anywhere locked up.When I used to go out on my cheap BSO with cheap lock I never gave it a second though. Now I've got a nice bike I feel I can't leave it anywhere (shops, places of interest etc) and its beginning to spoil the ride.Ive been watching bike thieves/locks on YouTube today and even the top locks were smashed in seconds with thieves using battery angle grinders while the public just walked buy without a second glance. And when they did catch the "God of Bike Thieves" 25grand worth of bikes he only got three months suspended.Sorry I'm ranting, don't watch you tube if your worried about your bike getting nicked.

Just send the new bike to me and go back to your BSO. You put the pleasure back in your cycling and I will put up with the stress. Simples

Yeah, don't leave a nice bike anywhere. Basically.

Shouldn't interfere with your pleasure of riding though.

It's simple. Don't leave your bike where you can't at least see it when it's locked up.
Get a cheapo hack bike if you need to leave it locked up for any amount of time.
Not to say that scrotes won't nick a hack bike because the will. Rather a cheap hack then your pride and joy eh?

Yeah I see what your saying,it's just a shame you can't leave anything anywhere these day without some scumbag stealing it.My mate had his 4year olds daughter's trike nicked from his shed not long ago, that's all that was taken!

It is a shame, but it's life !!

I'm probably fortunate that I never have to leave mine unattended in public, but I'd feel exactly the same as you if I ever had to.

All our bikes live in the garage, which is protected by PIR on the house alarm, but I still lock both of my bikes up, just in case the kids/wife forget to lock the garage door, especially considering the alarm isn't switched on during the day when we're at home.

If some opportunist ever finds the garage door unlocked, they can have one of the kid's bikes, rather than mine.
