Struggling to find some insurance for my bike for a trip to majorca.

No one seems to want to insure it whilst it's in the airlines hands

Anyone found a way around this?

Household contents? Certain policies ( eg Marks and Spencer or Tesco Finest?) will insure your contents away from home.

Yeah I've got it insured through my contents. It's insured whilst I'm away for 60 days for theft or accidental damage.

However whilst it's in the care of the airline it's only covered for accidental damage and not theft. Therefore if it doesnt turn up the other side I'm snookered

I think the airline is responsible for loss/damage, if it's an EU airline?

Yes they are just have a good conversation with an insurance firm they said the same. Apparently you have no chance proving accidental damage as airlines will just argue it was already like that! If it's lost providing you get a receipt saying you checked in a bike they have to replace.

So my insurance I have through my home insurance cover's me.

Majorca here I come ;-)
