I've been playing around with my new garmin hcx vista and now have City Navigator on it which is working fine.

Went to bikehike to try there mapping to upload to my gps but it creates to many waypoints for such a short distance ie 100points in just over a 1 mile of mapping. Is there anyway around this but still being able to use there mapping programe?

thank you

Amongst the "options" on bikehike (bottom right of course creator screen) is one to reduce the number of trackpoints.

There is this too, that may help.

Here for rides.
There is some third party software out there that can reduce the number of waypoints in a GPS file iirc.

My first ever GPS, a Vista HCx landed on my desk this morning.

Greg, i took my vista out for its first road trial this morning in the sunshine did what it was supposed to do navigate me around the lanes with ease, still lots to learn though!!!
