Cant really understand anyone who takes up cycling so they can get out in the fresh air and take in the beautiful scenery this country has to offer, then litters it with all their crap FFS just take home.
Because they are pros amateurs on a televised insignificant race sportive, so they've earned the right to drop stuff, knowing that they'll be a full clean up after the race sportive.

of course in an ideL world we would all take litter home...but cleary many riders dont...so i was just thinking it would be better to at least have degradable gel sachets for such litter louts.

I respect the good intentions behind the suggestion.

But anything that reinforces the idea that it's ok to scatter your crap, bio degradable or not, across the countryside is to be discouraged IMHO. More about the attitude of those who do it, rather than the actual environmental impact.

I suppose one solution might be re-fill able gel-containers. That might incentivise people to hang on to the tube. Put a bit of carbon-fibre weave pattern on it, and we'd all want one  Thing is, it's such sticky stuff that I'm not sure how practical that might be.

Runners, well some of 'em, use tiny teeny little gel bottles without issue.

I remember pulling over into a lay-by on the final day of my LEJOG. The most gorgeous view, and absolutely miles from anywhere - the only reason anyone would go there is to admire the scenery. The lay-by was full of litter. I just couldn't comprehend how the same person would be able to appreciate the view and then ruin it. It's baffling.
