Each year they produce a calendar (of non-cyclists...) so I guess it would be a little boring for you ladies.(and genitalmen)

What is it with women and muscular firemen?

I called in to see my ex a couple of days ago and she seemed rather distracted by something. I don't know if it was the hunky fireman who was standing next to her taking her through a fire safety questionnaire, or perhaps it was the other hunky young fireman who was standing on a step-ladder and fitting a free smoke alarm for her...

Ex'd heard her neighbours' smoke alarm go off and spotted smoke billowing from their bedroom window so she dialled 999. Two fire engines turned up and the crews quickly put the fire out - fortunately, it hadn't spread beyond the one room. One crew then started cleaning up the mess and the members of the second crew went door-to-door doing fire safety checks and fitting alarms. They said it was standard procedure on call-outs - seems like a good idea really. Saves making a separate journey, and the fire would have focussed minds on the need to take care in the home, and to have working smoke detectors. When the firemen checked ex's original detector, they discovered that it was corroded and didn't even have a battery fitted!
