As you can also see from the vid, I do not use those silly little cycle lanes. A complete waste of time. How wide are they? A foot at most?

Cheers Gaz! I could certainly do better with my signalling, tut tut. It's also not as assertive positioning as I had imagined.

Interesting though Mike. That road does seem to push you naturally to ride to the left. I can only imagine that is due to the left kink in the road.

Yeah, it's because it narrows as well as the left hand bend, and that you usually get a queue of traffic turning right that pushes traffic over towards the left and closer to you.

It's basically a pinch point, where the road appears to pinch on approach to the bend. the problem is that the pinch results in two narrow lanes and cars will have a tendency to drift over to the left lane and any car already in the left lane will 'cut' the corner.

I don't think there is a huge amount you can do here apart from keeping well away from the curb and keeping a close eye on the surrounding traffic.
