Your welcome. The tab is the piece of bent metal sticking out of the dished metal plate. This slots into the little hole in the fork axle slot, kinda like a mini hook, IYSWIM.

I do see what you mean - I have turned it 180 degrees and the little bit is now in the fork!

Am so grateful for your help - I didnt know where to start with putting it together. The Brompton manual is less interesting than the manual for a dishwasher...! Brompton should be a bit more creative. Luckily - there is Cycle Chat and very helpful and kind people like you!
