Yes they say it's all due to the bad weather but i am sick of cycling over big black holes like the one on this thread...anyone else got the same problem..or how about some pics :biggrin:

Got loads of em on some roads round our way. Council have marked them out with an aerosol spray, so they should get fixed.

Grrr, those holes really nark me. There was one about 7 or 8 inches deep outside my local Sainsbury. Went into it once, fortunately at low speed, and came to a shuddering halt. Fortunately there was no traffic behind me and it has since been repaired, but could have been nasty. Roads in Herts are quite dreaful in general, and there seems to be far too much pathwork repair with stretches of roads chosen apparently at random for resurfacing.

Nice one here - which is now three times the size it was when this was taken last year.

There were a few beauties on Ferry Road which have been filled in recently, but they're not visible on Google StreetView.

You mean this one on the junction white line.

Now you have some dated photographic evidence.

What happened - no Stenhouse Road. Street, Crescent, Gardens, Drive, Grove, Terrace, Avenue but no Road. Doesn't it get confusing round there when 7 roads all begin with the same name -

I'l second that you report it on www.fillthathole.org.uk - works for me, the main problem I'm encountering at the mo is the stealing of drain covers (drain holes big enough to fit a front wheel down and more) which is rife in Warwickshire, followed by the stuffing of traffic cones into said holes, which then migrate into the road

try riding on polish roads :becool:

absolute nightmare at times, it is, especially after a decent winter when the freeze-thaw cycle has been doing its worst. throw in tram tracks (wheel traps) and cobbled cycle lanes (i kid you not) and it's a blast

'Ridden over'? No. Ridden into, yes. Arse over tit, limped home leaking gently. Have to say tho, I reported it to the local council and it was aerosoled inside 24 hours, fixed within 48. I was impressed.

wow, which method did you use to report it swee'pee99?

I only know of one pothole large enough to cause me a concern. The ironic thing is, its on the only road to and from the local council depot. All their vehicles must drive over it each time they head back to the depot. You would think I shouldn't need to report it myself!

What? No reference to inter-dimensional time travel yet?!

The last black hole I rode over transported me back to 5th century Macedonia. Didn't like the beer.
