I am actually sat opposite a Jehovah's Witness from Sweden in my local restaurant as I type this.
Seemingly there is some big Convention in Glasgow or something.

I think I'll refrain from showing him this thread or that I have had blood in the past...

... But, should I go over and ask if I can talk to him about Cyclechat? 🤣

My sister in law was ill when first born and needed quite a few transfusions, whenever the witnesses used to knock on the door my father in law always used to explain to them in a forthright way when he had no interest in listening to them, that and he was a catholic as well. 😂

I'm AB- so quite rare, I'm currently up to my 25th donation and do so when I can but listening to those in the +100s it seems my little contribution is insignificant!

I'm AB+ - not as rare but rare enough

which is why I spent several years trying to donate and never found anywhere local that would take me

then when I did they said there wasn;t enough blood in it and that started the whole round of testing and stuff for several years

and now I don;t think I am allowed to anyway

I did for many years when I worked in Liverpool - at least I did that bit

73rd pint donated today.. As usual, they queried me being on my bike but I explained that's my normal mode of transport and wouldn't be a problem for the final 4 miles of my 16½ mile circuit of the town... 👍

74th donation yesterday.. Lovely weather to ride the 16 mikes there & back.

After having a year off due to low iron levels, my little droplet sank like stone! Must be the liver I've been eating (not with a nice chianti, I hasten to add.. 😁

I like the thought of hearing where your blood went (unless there was a spillage on the floor).
My own donations were decades ago, never heard anything about the recipients, and I'm now barred from donating as my bp drops too much.

Yes: not sure when that started but it's a good idea IMHO
