Maybe.
Might have.
Might do.
What's it to you?

Your individual donor status is nothing to me Vernon..... just that the Transfusion service are struggling to get enough donors at the moment so thought it worth asking the question in the hope that people that don't donate might at least give it some thought. Maybe tomorrow, the next day or some distant day in the future I may be in need of a transfusion as may anyone else (except Jehovah's Witnesses) so there is a vested interest.
Same goes for Organ Donor register - I respect everyone's right to say no they don't want to consider organ donation after death - but I still think it is tragic that people die every day while waiting for suitable organs, while we burn and bury suitable organs.

Cheerful soul me - I know!

One of the few contributions I can still make that seem to do any good - though I'm not an 'in-demand' blood type ...

All blood types are in demand..... just some groups more so than others!

O - can be given to everyone - hence the greatest demand as it can be given in emergencies to anyone regardless of their blood group.

O + can be given to everyone who is Rh +

If you are AB+ you can have everyone's blood - but can only donate to other AB+ people. (Universal recipient - safest place to be)

i try to give blood regularly but its difficult as the vans are always in different places as they can never get a decent turn out at one spot.
wouldn't mind donating other things like plasma and bone marrow -heard that hurts like hell, but its worth it of you can save a life.
looking at a tattoo soon so i reckon i won't be able to give blood for 12 months.

Next one is my 50th.

I only started since I worked somewhere 20+ years ago where they'd give you time off to do it, the staff would arrange to go on the same day at the times that tended to be busiest so you'd get two, maybe two and a half, hours off work. Most of the time you'd be waiting around, I'd take a book- it was great apart from the needle bit.

I go in my own time now, it's a habit.

I do it because I think it's a very good thing to do. Let's face it if you needed blood then you would expect it to be there wouldn't you
