Puzzle game procrastinator!
I know there's Egypt and Scotland down those parts, but Great Britain.
Ha ha - I didn't spot that!

That lightning site is a favourite of mine. It is amazing to see a strike shown somewhere a few miles away and to watch the thunderclap approaching. It is normally shown as getting here within a second or so of when it actually does.

Should be just pitching up now in the caravan ready for a nice 3 day break, site rang up this morning to say pitches were basically a waterlogged bog..

Hey Ho!, at least it's not snowing..
Just back from 3 days away in our tin tent! Sat till Today , Sunday was sunbathing weather ( ok at a push ) either side blinking freezing and snowing as well!! I’m done with winter wtf happened to spring !!

Think positive. At least the rain has washed the road salt away.

And closed a local road, with flooding from the confluence of the Rivers Aire & Calder, it's possibly even flooded part of Allerton Bywater (referred to as 'Inwater' when it's like it was this morning)

That's the A656 'Barnsdale Road' from Castleford, to 'Peckfield Bar' (A63 Leeds-Selby), & onwards to the A1 at HookMoor/Aberford

The same road in 2007

Have they finished building the latest batches of houses on the flood plain there yet?
I trust that any potential purchasers will be made aware - as well as being told of the work going on at Leeds Bridge for the collapsible weir that will avoid the city centre flooding by dumping all the water downstream...?

I walked it to the football match today. Three mostly uphill miles in half an hour soon warms you up:heat:. Then when i'd been stood there for half an hour the cold set in:cold:. Even 5 layers and thick gloves didn't help much. Mind you, being wet didn't help either:rain:. The floodlights were on throughout the game, which is an unusual sight for an afternoon match in April. Ah well,at least the heavy rain's started to wash the walked in dog shoot away.xx(

You sure are a fit guy Accy, all that ladder climbing in the past did you no harm. There is no way I could walk that fast with my dodgy knee.

Apocalyptic rain here. I'm so glad my house is waterproof. Am expecting a line of animals two by two at my door any moment. My son's girlfriend is stuck in York due to cancelled trains and I can't go and get her due to a glass of wine

It's raining so hard here that the dog went and stood at the back door wanting to go out, took one look and turned round and went back inside!

Thanks:smile:. I think it's about 2.8 miles not 3, as i'm thinking of the main road way by car. I walk over the hills and side streets most of the way. Even so i'm pleased i can still do the distance in the same time i could 14 years ago.
just ridiculous for April
I'm surprised that nobody has been on yet to say that it's not unusual to have this weather at the start of April. The difference being that this cold spell just goes on and on and on! It might not be unusual to have the odd cold day or two with snow in April, but it's been cold with a strong east wind for what seems like months now; and before that it was winter proper. Prior to that was the wettest summer in living memory. So in effect the weather has been crap since about September 2016 with the odd day of reasonable weather thrown in randomly. This climate is grey and depressing and certainly not conducive to encouraging cycling unless you happen to be really hard-core (which I am NOT - I refuse to punish myself at my age; long live the fair weather cyclist!).

Get out and ride the bike, whatever the weather.

It has been really crap weather even by Scotland standards, I managed 400 miles in December and January but February, March and the start of April has been shocking, woke up to 2 inch of snow this morning and to be minus 5 tonight, looking good from tomorrow onwards so hopefully that is the end of the bad weather.
