Just got home to find my garden gate wide open and that the radiator in my garden has gone missing.

So, obviously someone's walked up the back alley looking in gardens for "scrap" metal to have away.

Just wish they'd taken the broken toilet and other rubbish I'd not gotten round to taking to the tip.

The rest of the radiators are coming out soon, so was planning on weighing them all in at once myself.

Glad you put the last line in, I thought you'd fitted a radiator on the decking for a second there!

Nobody has stolen the one in our front garden and it's been there about 2 weeks now!

Where do you go to weigh them in?

You're lucky. I got home to find my garden gate missing.
Hah, you're lucky it was just your gate. I got home the other night and found the garden was missing and some strange bloke who must have been shagging my missus answered the door when I couldn't get my key in the lock .

Turned out it was the wrong house.....................

My ex GF lived near a caravan site. One day someone asked if they could take the car battery they had been using to prop their gate open. They said no, but the next morning the battery had mysteriously vanished. They had to give up leaving washing on the line overnight, because too many items managed to unpeg themselves and completely disappear.

We went to take some copper cylinders to the EMR depot in Bedford a few years ago at the height of the metal price boom. It was like a scene out of Mad Max, absolutely heaving with very dodgy-looking individuals and their booty. They pay in cash but I believe there is some talk of making scrappies pay by cheque so that there is some way of tracing the people who bring church roofs etc along.

Ok - well if nobody steals it in the near future we will have to take it there - it's really heavy.

We had a fire in our kitchen a few months ago, and the cooker and tumble drier that were the worst damaged were put outside in the front garden by the firemen.

Next day there was a knock at the door from a dodgy looking character asking if they were scrap. I told him yes but we were waiting for the insurance people to come and assess the damage so he said he would come back the following week

Both items mysteriously vanished while we were out later that same day.
