I have the beats by dre bluetooth headphones and they are awesome, clear sound and can keep them low to hear other noises
Have you tried watching video with them? Read reviews that say there are issues with going out of sync, due to the sound being delayed. Any way you can confirm this?

Just for giggles, I did a blind hearing test with my nephew's beats by dre compared to my 15 year old, battered Sennheisers with my family and they unanimously all went for the Sennheisers. There's a lot of style over substance with them IMO.

What were they like without cables attached?

They were standard cabled versions. TBH, given the extra analogue to digital and back again conversion needed, I can only imagine the sound quality being reduced even further.

I notice that they sit above the ear. Doesn't this interfere with gasses if one wears them?
I do like them and am thinking of buying some for using on my commute, but being a speccy git can imagine it might be a problem.
They are no problem with glasses. I don't bother with it on the bike as my phone is turned off when I'm riding, but I now wouldn't be without the earpiece in the car or at work (Which is split between driving and walking).

So not a fair comparison at all then? Useful in a thread about BlueTooth earphones.

If you're going to spend well into three figures on a set of cans, sound quality should be pretty high on the list of priorities IMO, not who endorses them or what they look like.

I totally take your point about Beats and their branding. But the very nature of BlueTooth earphones means they could never match proper wired over the ear cans. You have to compromise unfortunately. This goes for other brands. I bet the Sennheiser BlueTooth version don't compare either in fairness.

Thanks for the replies, I've been tempted by the Denon aw150's. They get cracking write ups and can get them for under £60, half the price of jaybird bluebirds

For the comparison of wired over wireless, the latter will never win but that's not what we are asking for. It's a comparison of the wireless models, beats vs jaybirds vs yurbuds vs denons.

Sounds quality isn't everything when on the road, but battery life, connectivity, moisture resistance etc are

If SQ and VFM is of any kind of consideration then discount the beats. I have friends that own various different beats headphones and they swear by them but for me they sound terrible for the outlay.

Don't like the image either to be honest, maybe if I were a footballer they'd be OK! Just don't see the appeal I guess.

I don't like the look of them either tbh.

If your looking for buds just for use whilst cycling I wouldn't have said you'd need a very expensive pair as you'd only be listening at low levels anyway. Must be something good enough for £15 - £20 on Amazon?

I've got £20 buds and they just don't stay in when running, fine for cycling. I've heard good things about fit of the yurbuds ironman, but then reviews saying the buds don't last long so I'm dubious about the leap wireless model
