Go test ride and then decide. Easy enough with Evans, less so Halfords so try the BMC first, if it makes you woop, that's the one

105 is higher up the shimano tree and more roadbike oriented, but Deore adjusted well should work perfectly

I've become a fan of BMC since I replaced my 2010 Specialized Allez frame with a 2009 BMC Streetfire SSX frame. The BMC is far and away a nicer ride. I barely feel any road buzz, which was pronounced on the Allez, it's sturdy and looks so much better IMO.

Your decision is tough as Boardmans are highly regarded, but don't be too put off by the Deore groupset on the BMC. It's roughly the MTB/Hybrid equivalent of 105 and the Boardman has the older 105 5700 10 speed groupset rather than the newer 105 5800 11 speed. Shimano MTB/Hybrid groupsets go Tourney/Altus > Acera > Alivio > Deore > SLX > XT > XTR and road groupsets go Claris > Sora > Tiagra > 105 > Ultegra > Dura Ace.

Test ride the BMC and if you like it, buy it.
