But.....does anyone else do this ?...i'm not fussed about fessing up, carparks drive me nuts and i'll park with one wheel over the line to dissuade others parking too close.
Why...cos i zarked off with miniscule parking spaces, people dooring my car, careless planks who couldnt give a monkeys about their own car, let alone anyone elses.
I should add....i only do it if there's plenty of free spaces.

Doors open...lambast me if you like

Quite right too you selfish twat!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:The number of times I drive round a car park to find there are a few spaces left but you can't get in them because some tosser has parked over the line.:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: I see what you say abut plenty of spaces but still.....

You'd get ticketed if you did that in any of the pay and displays around here and quite right too.

There may be plenty of spaces when you park but what about later when it's filled up and your car is taking up two spaces?

Selfish IMHO

Ah ha, pay and display, i'm not as stupid as i look  No, you wouldnt get away with it there.
The irony is, you have a perfect answer if anyone says anything, and its based on others inability to park correctly...
'not my fault chief...it was the tw@t who i parked next to who parked over the line, so i had to too'
No, in a busy carpark, i wouldn't dream of it, but i work hard for my money, i look after my stuff and will do anything reasonably possible to keep it that way...without of course deliberately causing annoyance (which isn't guaranteed of course but i can live with that)
The final straw was a few years ago...i parked up (correctly) on a shopping trip. I deliberately chose to park waaaaay waaaay away from other cars in a really quiet part of the car park (this drives my missus nuts ).
I came back to find another car parked so close i could hardly get in my door....and there were dozens of empty spaces all around :angry::laugh::sad:.

WTF !!! you take all the precautions you can, and some dozy plank still parks so close you can't get in your car. He got both barrels

To me, a car is just a machine to get me from A to B. So long as it is comfortable, drives nicely, is reliable and economical and is spacious enough for me to carry building materials, then I don't care two hoots what it looks like!

I'm the kind of driver who, when someone tries to bully me or cut me up, just grins at the other person as much as to say, "Do I look like I care if I get another dent? Oh! You're driving a £50,000 mercedes are you? How nice for you! My car's worth about £1,500".

It's not that I couldn't afford to go and spend money on a really plush new car, it's simply that I don't see the value in it.

Now, if someone scratched or damaged one of my bicycles or my motorbike ...

The number plate says it all. A knob in a K40 NOB vehicle doing something only selfish knobs would do.
The worrying thing is that the owner has deliberately chosen it.

A big chunk of the X5 (and similar) market is to people who actually want to give two fingers to everyone else. Just look at the advertising - the aspirational bit is there, but there is generally one of two messages: it's ok to kill your kids because mine are safe; get your little cars out of my way.

:biggrin: but thats just the same attitude...with a different focus.
Personally, i care about all my possessions, not to an anal point, but i do take pride.
Right or wrong (and it is wrong to occasionally park selfishly, although as stated, not in a busy carpark)...its soul destroying to spend £6K on a car (and thats not that much by someones standards) and have someone door it within days or weeks.

I should add, i dont often do it...i'll usually tour round a carpark looking for an edge space, so at least you've only one side to think about (this drives the wife nuts as well  )

'Cant we just go shopping ' she'll say

I like these discussions
I'm perfectly willing to accept i'm less than perfect, and not ashamed to admit it.
Now then, some people are absolutely perfect...apparently .
