BMX trailer plan thwarted - any idea's?

Just come out of the local Halfords, seen the hitch(£15) and I'd say it'd take the drilling out to the larger size required, 14mm.

The sewing, that was an alternative to the wire mesh in use.

Snap! (Didn't see you in Halfords though...) Drilling/filing to the required size should be fine. If the existing nut has a built in washer thing, you may need to use spacers/more washers to fill the recess in the hitch, as I don't think an integral washer will fit neatly in the hole.

Aww bless you both, some enquires on a local community Facebook group has given me the name of a local metal working firm who often do small jobs so I may pop it down there.

As for the sewing - I'm toying with the idea of a duct tape weave that I've seen on instructibles, mostly on garden chairs, but I've definitely seen it used on a trailer somewhere but can't find it now.
