I'm confused as to whether the new boardman URB 8.9 uses an alfine 8 hub or a nexus 8 hub? The boardman website suggests it's the former but the Halfords website suggests it's the latter!
I know the 2020 model had an alfine hub, but it seems they could have downgraded it?
Happens often that costs of components go up, but manufacturers don't want the headline price to increase, so they use cheaper parts to keep the cost the same
As far as I can make out the Alfine is designed for disc brakes and the Nexus is for roller brakes so horses for courses not a downgrade. A mistake on Halfords part?
I have one of these and can confirm that the hub gear is a Nexus Inter 8. The Halfords website is slightly confused, the description says it is an Alfine, but the spec says Nexus.
