Boardmans and mudguards?

Notice quite a few people have been fitting mudguards to boardman CX bikes. Having looked at a few pictures I think that most of the fittings have been made to carbon forks with no visible holes for stay fastenings. I've got a hybrid pro which has a similar problem and have had to give up my beloved SKS Chromo guards for inferior ones because I couldn't see anyway of attaching the stays to the front fork.

Is there some nifty device that I've not aware that will enable me to attach the stays to the front fork? If so, what is it and where can I buy one?

I've got the Boardman CX... there is an eyelet for the guards.
Only problem with the SKS Chromo is getting the stay around the disc brake - I just removed the stay completely. I'll try to attach a photo.

I followed the advice in the linked thread above from lejogger and removed the stay which the calliper was in the way of. The guards have been fine without it. Definately holes in the forks for the guards though on the CX

Cheers for the replies - looked at the pictures. Think I looked at that area on mine as it looked like the place where a hole for the stays should be - but no hole. Will double check tonight though!!

Finally got some time over the holidays to sort out my bike mudguard situation out. The ones I did have were uesless tbh - but they got me through to a time when I could really work on the problem of putting my old SKS Chromos on my Boardman Hybrid Pro. So for those of you that want to know - this is how you do it (or how I did it) if like me, you have no stay bolt holes on your front forks.

First you need to mount the stay onto the lower bolt of the brake caliper. You don't need an extra long bolt for this - the provided one is sufficient. Plus there is clearance around the caliper itself - although not much)

Secondly - you need to extend the vertical bracket already present on the SKS's. I will change the bolt I used for a shorter one when i next visit B&Q - but this was one I had laying around. These Boardmans seem to have massive amounts of front fork clearance.

Lastly the other stay will fit as shown. The mechanism I used was a plastic bottle cage strap which I got from Halfords for a princely sum of £2.99 for a pair. Thanks to the guy at the Wakey branch for the suggestion when I told him the issue I was having.

And that's it - the complete bike setup can be seen in my avatar picture. It took the winds and the rain this morning no problems!!
