Boiled onions anyone ?

My Bro brought us some 'home grown' onions.
MrsD fancies boiled onions.
I THINK I have eaten them in the distant past but tbh it doesn't seem appetising.
Willing to give it a go though.
Anyone here enjoy them ?

isnt that what they put on hotdogs/hamburgers at the fair, fun parks, food wagons........onions cooked in hot water

Come to think of it....yes.
But I think they boil them for 3 weeks.
nah......they boil them the day they need them, been to plenty of bbqs and bonfire nights to see it happening

poor mans alternative to caramelising them in a frying pan, but at least they don't burn when kept hot all day on a hot dog stand at a country show

My mother sometimes boiled them and served with a white sauce. I still do that but use a cupasoup with half the amount of water as sauce. Lazy way but it works.
