I'm just looking at a trek 7.6fx and it comes with a set of Bontrager SSR w/Clix wheels, they look a bit weak for everyday use as it has very little spokes. I wonder if they would handle country lane and uneven road surface or even potholes?

Are they any good for my purpose?

Rubbish wheel

I bought a Trek 7.5fx last August and my third spoke went on the rear wheel yesterday after only having it fixed 10 days previously after the 2nd spoke went. i cycled around for a while with one broken spoke. I have only commuted for about 6 months on my bike as i had a knee problem. These wheels are nowhere near strong enough to cope with London roads. As a guy in Evans Cycles just said to me, First World country with Third World roads.

I've had a 7.6 FX for 3 months and do at least 14 miles on it each day Monday to Friday. No problems as yet. I am about 12 stone 4.
