If i wanted sublety I'd be drinking Burgundy.
Laphroag is like being battered with a peat bog, and all the better for it.

I've just had six weeks off and I aimed to go all the way to Christmas but in the end...well...

The law of the sod conspired so that during the period of time I was teetotal I couldn't max out on the turbo 6 days a week and go swimming 3-4 times a week, like I'd planned, because I managed to damage my knee. Consequently, my bitterness over not being able to lose considerably more weight in preparation for next season led me to...er...bitter.

I haven't really drank since about 2004. I might have the odd pint if I'm on holidays but that is it. Don't miss it at all really. As a rural dweller, on the odd occasion I do visit pubs, I am usually driving home so it's easiest not to drink as I don't want to pay taxi fares.

I just use the money I save on drink and taxis on petrol to drive my drunk mates home instead:evil:

Can I do it? I've been cutting down bit by bit this year, I reckon it's doable. If I put it up here it'll give me peer pressure and an extra incentive.

Anyone else thinking of doing this?

Ten months now.But i had my gallbladder out in Jan.And certain foods upset my bowel. After coming home i read a few things on what to eat and drink to recover quicker and booze was a no go area.Either upset stomach, loose bowels and getting drunk much quicker and taking days ro recover. So i balanced it out.Cycling or missing cycling with dodgy bowels, you can't find toilets out in the middle of the countryside. So the booze lost out big time.
The cycling has got faster and i have lost weight. And i have more money in my wallet.
