Just to say thanks for all the advice and encouragement in the previous thread.
Just went and ordered one of these as my first road bike (since my last 10 speed racer 20 years ago!):
http://www.formebikes.co.uk/bikes/road/longcliffe3.php
Had came close to getting a spesh secteur but the Forme seemed like really good value
Got it for £449 plus 3% Quidco cashback and 1% cashback on the credit card with free delivery. Really looking forward to getting a couple of rides in before winter sets in and I revert to the old hybrid.
I'm feeling a wee bit awkward about asking my LBS to assemble set the bike up for me once it arrives all boxed up given that I didn't actually buy the machine from them (they just couldn't compete on price). Is it bad form (forme??) to do this or since I'm paying them to do a job am I worrying over nothing?
Cheers
