Bought this for Eroica but no idea what it is.

Yeah thought that myself. Looking like a workshop project. Nice though. Can get it stripped and sprayed for 60 quid locally. Will leave all but the tyres on it and see how it goes. Have considered new rims and spokes on current hubs just to satisfy my worries about braking more than anything. It will forever be an unknown entity but a fun one to ride too I hope. Should get me around Eroica if not much else. I feel it deserves to be used. Seems to be a project using decent parts.

The spike is to hold the steerer tube and fork crown together during brazing, the same pinning technique was used for the frame / lugs.

We used to sell decals... Crown, Chieftain, Meteor etc as mentioned above.

The Mech looks newer than the Frame, the grey wheels are part of the seals to the bushes.

That was me messing around with the photo. I was hiding the partial Crown sticker. Its missing part of the left side on the drive side and the other side of the sticker is missing on the non drive side. They both therefore say Crown but on different sides of the sticker. Odd.

Looks more like the paint name in that picture.

Double sided window/display sticker?

Looks very DIY to be sure. All coming off as soon as I can get the components off the frame. The 'head label' looks a little like a headbadge but applied very shoddily. No sign of anything similar on the Web. Might look for a nice Dulux sticker to add to the confusion!

Just collected this from my lbs with all components removed. Still nothing to identify the frame. The forks have the same 150 stamped on them presumably to match the frame when being made /sprayed. Off to Bob Jackson tomorrow with the pair. Still undecided on bottle bosses. Have a Topeak bottle cage adapter if needed but will probably not require it.Will have it sprayed a nice blue with white lug outlining. No decals. Will post pictures when wheels are rebuilt with new spokes and all components are back on. Gez

Quick update, dropped off with Bob Jacksons. Chose colours from sample plates. Pleased with service. Will take about four weeks at current workload. Very pleased with that. Have decided on bottle bosses but not pump pegs. Will use a frame fit pump or the small jersey pocket sized one, or canisters if desperate. Overall a very pleasant experience, so far. So glad I went with a frame builder and not a powder coater who doesn't specialise in bikes (and I would be trying to do the lug work myself). Will alert LBS to time frame and have bike rebuilt with respoked wheels and the components as was. Updates and pics will follow in a month or so. G

Quick update and some advice sought. Picked up the bike today. Very pleased with the paint job. Will post proper pics when the components and respoked wheels are on. A teaser photo below.
Now the advice: the cable guides which were added on I suspect after the frame was built, and badly painted, are no longer on the underneath of the top tube. I was unaware that they would come off but makes sense given their addition and shoddy appearance on the top tube. The top tube looks immaculate without them so no damage done. I now require advice as to what to use in their place. I have looked at specific clamps but they appear to be metal and I would rather not risk the paint job. Any ideas? Have considered cable ties at an absolute push but would rather something less rudimentary if possible. Thanks in advance,
Gerry

I have an idea that those 'Crown' decals are completely erroneous. You used to be able to puck up stuff like that just to decorate your bike. On the other hand maybe nothing to do with bikes.
I used to sell hundreds of aftermarket stickers into the cycle trade in the Midlands, in the early 1980s.
The 'Crown' head badge was certainly one of the ones I sold.
They used to retail at 33p each.
