Anyone know of an incident involving a bike and a truck at Bow Flyover about 16:30 today?

My wife saw a lorry, a bike under it, an ambulance and police.

This was the location of the first cycling fatality on London's Cycle Super Highway. I do so hope it's not another one.

Awful. I think this is one of the sites that campaigners are planning to cover in tomorrow's tour of 10 of London's most dangerous junctions/roads. RIP.

She sacrificed her life to the higher cause of not slowing down traffic according to TfL

Maybe this will make Boris think about what he said the other day.

Looks like there's a nasty pinch point at the junction whis is inherently unsafe.

I'm very aware at getting alongside goods vehicles as I drive a 7.5 ton lorry at work.

Today at 4pm in the drizzle and dark a cycle commuter was trying to pass me on the bilnd side. Luckily I had him in my mirrors. He then disappeared behind me and began slipstreaming me. Pretty dangerous as all he could see was the back of my lorry and not the road ahead. Skinny tyres and wet brakes, no margin for error.

Roadcraft on a bike is every bit important as in a motor vehicle, hazard perception is crucial.

Yes. In a shattering statement:

"TfL have previously said that there is nothing that they can do to make the roundabout safer, without causing traffic jams."

Beyond satire.
