Sutton Wharf should be open Boxing Day
I'm sure you don't need any extra incentive to do your ride, but just in case, here is a reminder of Box Hill, 20minutes ago:What rides are you planning this Boxing Day? I might do my usual ride to Box Hill from Croydon area just to get away from the family!
I was thinking the same. It's around 50 miles from my house to Tarbet so might need to convince Mrs Slick to come and pick me up. I'm not ready for a 100 miler on a stomach full of turkey and chocolate yet.Going to be in the Trossachs/Loch Lomond area and weather looks to be ok; so it seems a shame to waste the opportunity. Bike going into back of car tomorrow and I'll see if I can come up with a 30 or so mile ride. Hosts (bro and his wife) are off to a party on Boxing Day to which I am invited, but won't be a problem if I decline.
If you're up that way keep an eye out for a helmet-free plodder on a white Genesis Croix de Fer. Not sure where I'll be heading but leaving from brother's place in Gartocharn - so maybe the NCN route from there towards Drymen and Aberfoyle.I was thinking the same. I think it more likely I'll be on the other side of the loch but my brother and I use that side quite often. The Buchanan Arms to Rowardenan was one short route, same Buchanan Arms to Aberfoyle over the back road was another or even round Loch Katrine once we got there when were feeling particularly energetic. That's pretty much the least trafficked way to goAlas working (railway working at crimbo sucks) but I did that same route on the 22nd what way do you usually go? I live near Waddon so head up via Carshalton Beeches station, up past Highdown prison to Banstead, over A217 at top of the mad mile to Driftbridge, over the racecourse through Langley Vale then left to Headley. Any tips?
