For those of you who have the android handsets have a look at these apps fantastic bit of kit. Do exactly the same as a cycle computer for only 4.99 and then you can download/upload the results and compare the results over a period of time

Both fantastic out of the two I prefer sportstracklive

have a look and see what you think

They're fine, but there are free apps that do the same. The limitation (for me) is that battery life is not good, and anyway, I'm only really bothered about distance and time... which my cheap cycle computer does already. I occasionally use MyTracks for recording a route, and have tried SportyPal and a few othjers. The technology is fantastic though, I love it. :becool:

Mrs FF has one too, but it's dying... She want's another though, adamant about it. What is it with women and blue glowing kettles?

They are shite tbh. We got through 3 in about the same in years. Just got a bog standard non-glow Kenwood now.

My latest gadget is a genuine Italian espresso machine all shiny stainless steel steam pipes and pressure guages and what have you. And now I get to bash the wotsit to make the used coffee grounds drop out just like in proper cafes. In fact I've become a complete and utter barista in the time since I bought it.

Green with envy! I'd love one of those!
But I DO have a 6-slot Dualit toaster, rescued from a skip by my brother-in-law in 1990, spruced up, fixed and given to me. 20yrs later (and it was OLD OLD OLD when he rescued it), it's still going strong (unlike his marriage to my sister, which sort of came to an end)!

And that's what my sister has!

God, I'm a kettle luddite in my family, I thought having one that sat on a swivelly base was exciting enough...[/QUOTE

We've got a chrome thing that sits on the gas hob. Even more lo - tech.

... blimey, I'm involved in internet - based kettle inverse snobbery. What's happened to my life?

They actually save you money. Whenever I went to the local cafe I would spend on average 5 Euros and I'd go about four times a week. By my reckoning this is about 1,040 Euros a year. It cost 1,650 Euros and the super posh grinder brought the total up to 1,900 and the coffee bean bill will be less than 150 Euros a year, I reckon.

I've not been to the cafe since because I now make the best espresso and latte in the town so after about 2 years it will have paid for itself and logically it should actually be putting money in my pocket thereafter. So my advice is to get one without hesitation. There are loads of similar models. I got mine (the Quickmill Andreja) because it was the model in use in the coffee shop where I bought it.

Samsung H1 phone on Vodafone 360.

Very exclusive; never seen another one, which sort of defeats the object of the service.

Runs LiMo2; almost no 3rd party apps, lots were promised but v. few. have materialised.

I think I bought a bum steer.
